Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard precautions and facility safety. Use of principles of body mechanics in daily living activities. Basic communication skills which facilitate inter-professional teamwork in the health care setting. Focus on development of personal communication skills and an understanding of how effective communication skills promote teamwork. Focus on intercultural communication strategies. Overview of the historical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects of play, leisure, and recreation and their role in contemporary society. Nature of play and leisure behavior in human development within different cultures and the contribution play, recreation, and leisure make to the quality of life for individuals in today's society.
