Understanding and enjoyment of art and visual culture through study of two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art, design elements, media and processes, and cultural contexts. Emphasis on contemporary topics and cultural diversity in the arts. Prerequisites: None.

Survey of history of photography from beginning to present. Emphasizes the reciprocal relationship between the medium's development and reception, society, and other visual arts. Technical developments, photographic practices, and sociocultural themes are studied. Prerequisites: None.

Introduces the theory and practice of human communication. Surveys communication topics related to interpersonal, small group, and public communication. Prerequisites: None.
Theory and practice of communication skills which affect day-to-day interactions with other persons. Topics may include using verbal and nonverbal symbols, interactive listening, resolving interpersonal conflict, developing and maintaining personal and professional relationships. Overview of theory and methodological practice in communication with particular attention to scholarly writing skills. Emphasis on development of critical thinking skills through active participation in the research process.

Diverse cultural contexts are explored through basic concepts, principles, and theories of intercultural communication. Discovering effective interaction and appropriate communication in a global community is emphasized. Prerequisites: None.
Number systems, conversion methods, binary and complement arithmetic, Boolean switching algebra and circuit minimization techniques. Analysis and design of combinational logic, flip-flops, simple counters, registers, Read Only Memory (ROMs), Programmable Logic Device (PLDs), synchronous and asynchronous sequential circuits, and state reduction techniques. Building physical circuits.

Introduction to circuits and devices. Component models, transient analysis, steady state analysis, Laplace transform, and active and passive filter networks.

Register-level computer organization, I/O interfaces, assemblers, and linkers. Processor organization and design, data path, control, pipelining, and input/output. Theoretical foundation of bioethics reviewed within historical and contemporary contexts.

The structural and functional pathophysiology of alterations in health; selected therapeutics considered.
