Foundation course in digital arts and design, with emphasis in the production of art using the computer. Prerequisites: None.
Fundamentals of digital photography. Includes camera operations, exposure techniques, introduction to digital output, and theory of digital photography. Prerequisites: None.
Digital camera required.Basic understanding of design principles and the stages of graphic design, with an emphasis on final product and presentation.

Fundamentals of ecology and their relevance to human impact on natural ecosystems. Prerequisites: None.
Study of the common plants and animals of the Southwest including their distribution, adaptation, behavior, and ecology. Introduction to basic field and laboratory techniques used in the study of natural history. Specific field problems presented dealing with plant and animal analysis and ecological interrelationships. Survey of American Indian history with emphasis on the last 200 years. Focuses on cultural, economic, political and social continuity and changes. Topics include how federal policies impacted and were shaped by Indigenous peoples and how Indigenous individuals, communities, and nations have maintained cultural identity and sovereignty.
