Understanding and enjoyment of art and visual culture through study of two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art, design elements, media and processes, and cultural contexts. Emphasis on contemporary topics and cultural diversity in the arts. Prerequisites: None.

EED200 requires a minimum of 30 hours of field experience in birth to age eight environments.Consideration of public health issues and safety procedures within early childhood settings, serving young children birth to age eight. Overview of nutritional needs and issues of physical fitness and well-being in young children. Includes field experiences. Prerequisites: None.
Introduces children's language acquisition and literacy development. Exploration of the relationships among language, literacy, family, culture, and community. Study of educational practices and advocacy opportunities that support language acquisition, literacy development and the preservation of heritage languages. Prerequisites: None.
Work experience with infants and toddlers in early care and education settings. Eighty (80) hours of designated work per credit.

Students may receive credit for only one of the following: GLG110 and GLG111 or GLG110IN.Overview of current and recent development of health care professions, including career and labor market information, health care delivery systems, third party payers, and facility ownership. Health organization structure, patient rights and quality care. Health care and life values. Definition and importance of values, ethics, and essential behaviors in the workplace. Worker rights and responsibilities. Healthful living practices to include nutrition, stress management and exercise. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard precautions and facility safety. Use of principles of body mechanics in daily living activities. Basic communication skills which facilitate inter-professional teamwork in the health care setting. Focus on development of personal communication skills and an understanding of how effective communication skills promote teamwork. Focus on intercultural communication strategies.
