Number systems, conversion methods, binary and complement arithmetic, Boolean switching algebra and circuit minimization techniques. Analysis and design of combinational logic, flip-flops, simple counters, registers, Read Only Memory (ROMs), Programmable Logic Device (PLDs), synchronous and asynchronous sequential circuits, and state reduction techniques. Building physical circuits.

Introduction to circuits and devices. Component models, transient analysis, steady state analysis, Laplace transform, and active and passive filter networks.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PHY116 or PHY131 or permission of Instructor or Division or Department Chair. Corequisites: MAT276 or permission of Instructor or Division or Department Chair.

Introduction to procedural programming (C/C++) and hardware description language (VHDL).

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (CSC/EEE120 and CSC205), or permission of Instructor or Division or Department Chair.

Assembly language programming including input/output (I/O) programming and exception/interrupt handling. Register-level computer organization, I/O interfaces, assemblers, and linkers. Processor organization and design, data path, control, pipelining, and input/output. Memory organization with cache and virtual memory.

Overview of current and recent development of health care professions, including career and labor market information, health care delivery systems, third party payers, and facility ownership. Health organization structure, patient rights and quality care. Health care and life values. Definition and importance of values, ethics, and essential behaviors in the workplace. Worker rights and responsibilities. Healthful living practices to include nutrition, stress management and exercise. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard precautions and facility safety. Use of principles of body mechanics in daily living activities. Basic communication skills which facilitate inter-professional teamwork in the health care setting. Focus on development of personal communication skills and an understanding of how effective communication skills promote teamwork. Focus on intercultural communication strategies. Prerequisites: None.

Medical terminology used in health care, with special care populations and in special services. Body systems approach to terms related to structures, functions, diseases, procedures, and diagnostic tests. Building and analyzing terms using word parts. Medical abbreviations and symbols and term spelling. Prerequisites: None.

General consideration of human nature and the nature of the universe. Knowledge, perception, freedom and determinism, and the existence of God. Prerequisites: None.

Informal logic, logical fallacies, elementary symbolic logic, analysis of argument forms, and construction of proofs for validity.

A philosophical consideration of moral problems that arise in relation to medicine and biology, e.g., death, patient's rights and biological experimentation. Prerequisites: None.

Various types of energy and their conversion to useable energy such as electrical power. How generated electrical power is transmitted and distributed to the point of use. Prerequisites: None.

Theory, construction and application of basic power plant mechanical components. Basic concepts of electrical fundamentals and electronics discussed. Prerequisites: None.

Hydraulic and pneumatic safety, physical concepts, and fluid laws. Hydraulic and pneumatic system components and operation. Troubleshooting procedures of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Mechanical component types and characteristics, common failure mechanisms, and operating principles of plant components. Prerequisites: None.

Components and function of reactor coolant, volume control, safety injection, and nuclear sampling systems. Function and operation of main steam and turbine systems, main and auxiliary feedwater systems, pressurizer, control rod drive, and recirculation systems. Operation and function of steam and heater drain systems. Reactor plant safety concepts.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PPT120 and PPT121, or permission of Program Director.

Advanced plant systems. Water, electrical and cooling systems. Safe shutdown cooling water system. Waste drain system. Fuel handling and storage systems. Fuel pool cooling and cleanup. Purpose and operation of radioactive waste management. Service air and gas systems. Ventilation and fire protection systems. Containment, Containment Spray, Emergency Core Cooling, Emergency Power, Environmental Monitoring, Off-gas, Post-accident, Radiation Monitoring, Residual Heat Removal, and Suppression Pool systems.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PPT120 and PPT121, or permission of Program Director.

Rotary, reciprocating and centrifugal pump operation. Positive displacement and metering pump operation. Diaphragm pulsafeeder operation. Disassembly, inspection and reassembly of radially and axially split centrifugal pumps. Troubleshooting and lab safety. Prerequisites: None.

Basic nuclear reactor theory to include reactor chemistry, water chemistry, radiation detection and protection principles, and reactor plant materials.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PPT120 or permission of Program Director.

Electrical component types and characteristics, such as circuit breakers and fuses, instrumentation schematics, protective relaying, and inverters. In-depth reading and troubleshooting of electrical engineering and vendor prints. Operation and control of emergency power systems. Diesel Generators will also be covered.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (ELC119 and ELC120) or permission of Program Director.

The systematic study of social behavior and human groups, particularly the influence of culture, socialization, social structure, stratification, social institutions, differentiation by region, race, ethnicity, sex/gender, age, class, and socio/cultural change upon people's attitudes and behaviors. SOC1101

Sociological study of human sexuality. Course examines the social forces that shape a culture's sexual practices, attitudes, and inequalities. Topics include the social construction of sexuality, social change, sexual identities, sexual inequalities, institutional influence and regulation of sexuality, as well as current trends and issues surrounding human sexuality. Prerequisites: None.

SOC130 contains mature adult content and some of the topics discussed may be considered "controversial" or "taboo" in some societies and cultures. Students are expected to be able to engage with the content in a respectful and open-minded way.

A sociological exploration of the way culture shapes and defines gender in contemporary U.S. society. Major emphasis on gender roles, gender stereotypes, power and the relationship between gender and other intersecting social identities such as race, ethnicity, class, and sexual identity. Examines how the social construction of race shapes social interaction and social institutions. Explores the consequences of power, privilege and oppression among major ethnic and racial groups in the United States. Prerequisites: None.

SOC2215

An overview of the sociological study of social problems and inequalities confronting the United States. Emphasis is placed on what is known about social problems, recent trends, causes and consequences, individual and societal responses, and how social policies might solve social problems. Issues to be examined may include: health care, education, family, economy, environment, drug and alcohol abuse, crime and violence, among others. Prerequisites: None.

SOC2250

Fundamental techniques and terminology of acting through physical and vocal expression, improvisation, and monologue and scene work. Emphasis on characterization. Prerequisites: None.

Designed to give college credit to the cast and technical production crews of college theatre productions. Prerequisites: None.

THP201AA may be repeated for a total of four (4) credit hours.

Fundamental techniques of acting through script analysis, rehearsal, and performance.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in THP112 or permission of Department or Division.

Procedures of technical theatre production and demonstration. Topics include design and construction of scenery, lighting, and properties. Prerequisites: None.

Contemporary theory and practice in directing, the evolution of present-day directing procedures, and a sampling of scripts for directing practice. Principles of script analysis, blocking, casting, rehearsing, and performing.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in THP112 or THE220, or permission of Instructor.

The role of the theatre designer in creating scenic, lighting, costume, sound, and multimedia effects for stage productions. Elements of the design process and communication of dramatic themes and visions to the audience. Prerequisites: None.
