Introduction to the fundamentals of the natural gas pipeline operations. Includes topics such as damage prevention, emergency response, valve operation, and testing of facilities. This course prepares students for the Non-Joiner Operator Qualification in the natural gas pipeline industry. Prerequisites: None.
Principles and practices of plastic pipe joining in the natural gas industry. Includes pipe joining techniques such as solvent cements, heat fusions, mechanical saddle fittings, and compression couplings. This course prepares students for Pipe Joiner Qualification in the natural gas industry. Prerequisites: None.
Theories and concepts in industrial technology basics and OSHA 10 certification. Introductory concepts in industrial math, hand and power tools, technical drawings, rigging, and materials handling. Emphasis on communication and employability skills. Included labs emphasize and anchor the course material. Safety and management expectations. Defense in depth strategy and conduct of verifications. Maintenance procedures. Work control process. Performance of work standards and documentation including pre-job preparation, pre-job notification, job review, job verification and job close out specific to nuclear power plant operations. Theory and practice in the use of social media in marketing. Topics may include a history of social media, preparation for social marketing, the power of collective influence, and how to engage with social media. Reviews social mediums, social networks, platforms and other marketing tools used to create a social media campaigns. Prerequisites: None.

Includes features of Windows 10, virtualization improvements, network connectivity, access to resources, monitor and maintain Windows clients and backup and recovery. Utilization of Nurse of the Future competencies and clinical judgment measures to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, quality patient care across the wellness-illness continuum in selected medical-surgical and mental health patients.Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (BIO202 and NUR152) or permission of Nursing Department Chair.
Application of critical thinking strategies and clinical judgment measures related to holistic care of the newborn and childbearing patients. Integration of concepts related to holistic care of adults and older adult patients with selected acute and chronic alterations in health. Integration of professional nursing standards in role development. Utilization of previous knowledge of physical, biologic, psycho-social sciences, and the cultural, spiritual aspects of nursing care. Hydraulic and pneumatic safety, physical concepts, and fluid laws. Hydraulic and pneumatic system components and operation. Troubleshooting procedures of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Mechanical component types and characteristics, common failure mechanisms, and operating principles of plant components. Prerequisites: None.
Components and function of reactor coolant, volume control, safety injection, and nuclear sampling systems. Function and operation of main steam and turbine systems, main and auxiliary feedwater systems, pressurizer, control rod drive, and recirculation systems. Operation and function of steam and heater drain systems. Reactor plant safety concepts.Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PPT120 and PPT121, or permission of Program Director.

Purpose and operation of radioactive waste management. Service air and gas systems. Ventilation and fire protection systems. Containment, Containment Spray, Emergency Core Cooling, Emergency Power, Environmental Monitoring, Off-gas, Post-accident, Radiation Monitoring, Residual Heat Removal, and Suppression Pool systems.Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PPT120 and PPT121, or permission of Program Director.

Procedure for field manufacture of die-formed packing rings. Function of the Optical Flat. Valve inspection. Gaskets and torquing techniques. Prerequisites: None.
Rotary, reciprocating and centrifugal pump operation. Positive displacement and metering pump operation. Diaphragm pulsafeeder operation. Disassembly, inspection and reassembly of radially and axially split centrifugal pumps. Troubleshooting and lab safety. Prerequisites: None.
Basic nuclear reactor theory to include reactor chemistry, water chemistry, radiation detection and protection principles, and reactor plant materials.Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in PPT120 or permission of Program Director.
Electrical component types and characteristics, such as circuit breakers and fuses, instrumentation schematics, protective relaying, and inverters. In-depth reading and troubleshooting of electrical engineering and vendor prints. Operation and control of emergency power systems. Diesel Generators will also be covered.Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (ELC119 and ELC120) or permission of Program Director.
