Introduction to the Exceptional Learner EDU222

Overview of the exceptional learner with emphasis on factors relating to current practices, identification, characteristics, and educational adaptations. Issues related to mild disabilities, severe disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, and students who are gifted. Prerequisites: None.

EDU222 requires an approved field experience.

The field experience/internship in an elementary or secondary school setting for this course will require that the student MUST have an IVP fingerprint clearance card per Arizona Revised Statutes. Clearance cards may be obtained through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
