
Principles and operation of AC (Alternating current) and DC (direct current) motors, generators, and alternators. Includes single-phase motors along with induction, synchronous, and wound-rotor types of three-phase motors. DC motors including shunt-field, series field, wound rotor, permanent magnet, stepper and brushless types.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ELC119 or permission of Instructor or admission to Electric League of Arizona program.
