Kinematics, Newton's laws, work, energy, momentum, conservation laws, dynamics of particles, solids, fluids, mechanical waves, and sound.

Students who fail to attend the first scheduled class meeting, or to contact the instructor regarding absence before the first scheduled class meeting may, at the option of the instructor, be withdrawn.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in MAT220 or MAT221 or permission of Department or Division. One year of High School physics or PHY111 and PHY112 suggested but not required.

Calculus and Physics for STEM Majors, primarily in engineering: This accelerated and fully integrated learning community is highly recommended for engineering and physics majors. Students will learn how to transition between the two disciplines, work in teams, build strong communication and writing abilities, along with learning how to critically think. Students will also be able to finish their physics sequence a semester early. To participate this learning community students must enroll in MAT221 #23435, PHY121 LEC#23988, and PHY121 LAB#23989.
