Provides overview of disabilities with a focus on treatment techniques for low incidence disabilities, including blindness, low vision, deafness, hard-of-hearing, moderate to severe mental impairment, deaf-blindness, significant developmental delay, complex health issues, serious physical impairment, multiple disability, traumatic brain injury, genetic syndromes, and autism.

All textbook and course materials available at no or low cost (<$40) - may include OER (Open Educational Resources).
This course has a synchronous office hour session with the instructor one evening each week. The exact time and day of the week will be posted in the course syllabus and on the course home page.
Prerequisites: Admission into the Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Program.
