Overview of the historical, political, economic, social, and philosophical factors that influence education and make it so complex. Opportunity for students to assess their interest and suitability for teaching. Prerequisites: None.

Requires minimum of 30 hours of field experience in elementary or secondary classroom environment.

The field experience/internship in an elementary or secondary school setting for this course will require that the student MUST have an IVP fingerprint clearance card per Arizona Revised Statutes. Clearance cards may be obtained through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. For details http://www.azdps.gov/reports/fingerprint/faq/default.asps There is a fee associated with this separate from tuition that will be the student's responsibility.
