Introductory course covering basic principles and concepts of biology. Methods of scientific inquiry and behavior of matter and energy in biological systems are explored. Prerequisites: None.

Field trips may be required at students' expense.

Students who fail to attend the first scheduled class meeting, or to contact the instructor regarding absence before the first scheduled class meeting may, at the option of the instructor, be withdrawn.
This course may require one or more in-person proctored test(s) on date(s) listed in syllabus.

Due to COVID-19, this in person class section has been transitioned to a Traditional Online section. Coursework must be completed according to deadlines. Students will need to have access to a computer or mobile device, as well as the internet.
Labs will be completed at home and some lab activities may require low cost (<$20) supplies available from a grocery store, craft store or online retailer.
