Honors Only Cohort is comprised only of students in the Honors program.
In this unique Honors non-traditional cohort experience, students will develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for mathematics through the creation of exhibits and experiences to inspire others, and allow them to experience math in a hands-on, collaborative, fun manner. Students will design, prototype, and build exhibits and experiences for a math festival/carnival displayed and presented at the Fall 2019 EMCC Honors Expo. This Honors cohort is designed for Honors students who have a interest in math, engineering or science but are looking for ways to apply first-hand knowledge in a creative way. Unlike traditional math classes, this course will meet once a week, on a few select weekends, and at the Honors Expo.
In addition to the scheduled class times, students must meet for 3 Saturdays (9/21/19, 10/19/19 and 11/2/19 from 8:30am-4:30pm) in preparations for the Math Festival at Honors Expo. Students must also plan to attend the Math Festival at Honors Expo, tentatively scheduled on Thursday, Nov 21, 2019.
