Working knowledge of college-level mathematics and its applications to real-life problems. Emphasis on understanding mathematical concepts and their applications. Topics include set theory, probability, statistics, finance, and geometry.

Appropriate for the student whose major does not require college algebra or precalculus.

Prerequisites: Appropriate math score OR grade of C or better for MAT090 or MAT091 or MAT092 OR (appropriate diagnostic score or grade of C or better in each of the following courses: MAT055 & MAT056 & MAT057) or grade of C or better in MAT120/121/122. Course Equivalencies: MAT140 & MAT141 & MAT142
